Amedeo Cappelletti, in music cplt, is an Italian sound artist and performer currently based in Berlin. His works are curiosity-driven investigations stretching over the sonic fields of ambient, drone, found sound, broken beat, and abstract experimentation. He has also developed a habit of frequent music collaborations and of participations in cross-media projects where sound meets live poetry, still and moving image, and contemporary dance.

Depending on the context, his productions and live-sets traverse greatly different landscapes and reflect very diverse aesthetic influences: ambient-contaminated industrial breakbeat track At least I’m not a penguin (released by label ygam on its various artist compilation From our Future Selves) is an aftermath of field recording and modular synthesis; his DJ set for Melantónia collective’s series on Fango Radio sees the coexistence of ambient, dub and jazz currents; his sleepover live-set with Ambire exemplifies his electro-acoustic and live improvisation work.

During his studies of Music Production and Live Performance at DBS Music Berlin (2017-2019), Amedeo develops an interest in the meticulous worlds of synthesis and modular hardware, experiencing a new dimension of freedom in experimentation. The course at DBS closes with the unique opportunity of a sound engineering internship at MONOM and with the development of a thesis project dedicated to its state of the art 4DSOUND system and of on-going research around the potential of spatial sound as a creative medium.

While releasing tracks with ygam and Catalyst, cplt also works as a sound designer and composer for short films. He performed live in locations such as Punctum (Prague), Loophole, Modular+ Greenhouse, Diskothek Melancholie II, and Funkhaus Berlin, as well as in the context of various multi-media events.

cplt is co-founder of the music collective Ambire, dedicated to critical listening in the areas of drone, ambient, and experimental music. In 2019, he becomes Ableton teacher for Dry Agency, designing and running cycles of lessons for beginners. Always since 2019, he joins Rooms of Kairos’ project and collective. He works regularly in the project’s sound studio both for his personal activity and as a sound engineer, offering private lessons and assisted production sessions. Currently, he collaborates with Letizia Trussi for the development of the project’s radio show and especially of its first part: Intersection.
