FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF ROOMS OF KAIROS

Born in Italy in 1984 and based in Berlin since 2013, Letizia works as a curator, project manager and cultural operator in the realms of art, music, and education.
Elle is her artist alias. She is a singer, currently working with Berlin-based Canadian musician Scott Monteith aka Deadbeat on the new audio-visual performance and recording project Ark Welders Guild. She is training as a voice artist, and she is developing a series of creative radio programs, among which is Intersection.
Besides, she's active in the club and festival environment, seen as a place of unchained experimentation and collective creation.

She studied History of Arts at the University of Bologna within the DAMS program, where the focus on Art is integrated with studies of Music, Cinema, and Theatre history and practices. In 2011 she graduated with honours in the Master's program of Communication and Education of Arts at the Fine Arts Academy of Bologna. In Italy, she worked in museums and foundations, and for the classic music festival Incontri in Terra di Siena.

Between 2014 and 2015, together with other artists, she managed the independent art space Plateau Gallery, producing or hosting over 200 events of the most different kinds. After this fundamental Berliner experience, she collaborated with various festivals, collectives, locations, and cultural initiatives, strengthening the connections with a large number of art and music realities of Berlin, both within the underground and the experimental electronic scene. She is also co-founder of Cluster e.V. and of the residency and workshop program Clean Perspectives, based in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands.

In 2018, with the establishment of Rooms of Kairos in the art and music studio community of Gaswerksiedlung, she jumped into her first solo venture. The creative project is designed to incorporate Letizia’s various passions, interests, and professional skills under one name and one roof while establishing a meeting and working space for her network of collaborators, musicians and artists. Following her education and past work activity, this project reflects a determined multidisciplinary approach to culture, intended as the holistic creative expression of a specific historical moment. Her interest falls on the contemporary - not only in the observation of nowadays’ arts but in the very production of new cultures. Her projects are often marked by the invention of a creative concept to be implemented through collective creative actions.

Since 2022, she has held the position of creative director of Gaswerksiedlung Berlin and initiated a process aimed at building its aesthetic identity and establishing its presence in Berlin's cultural life. Here, between 2018 and 2023, Letizia has curated various exhibitions, electronic music parties, live cinema + live music nights, residencies, and more. In 2023 she directed the Gaswerk Art Days - a three-day interdisciplinary summer event that has counted more than 30 music acts along a visual arts and performance program.

As a signer, in 2023 she is part of the collaborative project Ark Welders Guild with Scott Monteith. Combining visual motifs of AI-driven content generated via the pollinations.ai platform and Monteith's road movies, the duo weave a complex web of poly-rhythmic audio-visual psychedelia spanning diverse genres and tempos.
On April 7 2023, they present the first fruit of the labour with Mons Clepsydra - an hour-long drone epic divided into four parts. The second release, entitled Oneironautics and planned for the beginning of 2024, encompasses nine tracks running the gamut from ambient and noise experiments to dub, lo-fi house, classic trip-hop manoeuvres, and poly-rhythmic dance excursions

She has also been part of the electronic trip-hop duo Lagoon and the downtempo project yelagua, and she recorded with multi-instrumentalist Romain Azzaro and for a series of mixes where the improvised voice interacts with the music selection of DJ Nob.
