Sarah Wreath is born anew to grow the transformational power of her music, on her accomplice decks as well as in alliance with her analog machines. If listening, collection, and selection have been daily habits since her youth, the processes of production and devoted explorations into the ripples of sound became the most significant practice of her last Berliner years. Researching around the alchemic properties of music, she conceives sound as a substance and she moulds her mind-expanding acoustic messages by weaving together industrial matters and hypnotic liquids, looping signals, cosmic oils, and dub spices.
In Sarah’s vision, there is no prevailing preference over the role of producer or DJ - no hierarchical distinction amongst the club’s dancefloor, the acoustic hall, the healing sound bath, or the movie soundtrack. In the same perspective, both the creator and the careful selector of music&sound are entrusted with the power of touching the body-mind complexities of listeners and dancers with forceful acoustic messages.
Conscious of such power, Sarah is fascinated by the potential of an approach both scientific and magical to music. Willing to grow her knowledge of the physical mechanics and technical aspects underlying the world of sound, in 2020 she started dedicating full time to sound studies and music production. She also started engaging with therapeutic sound practices, once more underlining the healing purpose of her work and unveiling one of the essentials of her artistic statement and production. Music and sound are felt as invaluable chances for the cultivation and thriving of the human essence, far from any system’s traps and shallows.
This fundamental root accompanied Sarah during her move to Berlin in 2014, through her deep swims into the club culture, towards the creation of her first studio in 2017 and all along the journeys with her analogue machines - companions in the composition, “things with a voice”, each one free to express and instil their natural characteristics and sound essence into the story of each project.
In 2020, besides studying sound engineering, Sarah established her new music studio at Rooms of Kairos - a core space to focus on her development both as a musician and sound engineer, and where to enter into full synergy with her machines.
Since 2017, she has been part of the music collective Catharsis.
Together with good friend and collaborator Toxido Mask, she is founder of upcoming label Modex21 and part of the new project Solid Traveller, both label and duo dedicated to transforming emotions into music - novel energy is released in the process.
These are only the last steps of a life whirling around music, starting from her youth in South Germany, when she was playing instruments, adventuring in her DJ-dad’s collection and setup, discovering club music through mixtapes... Soon enough getting fascinated and entangled with the idea of bewitching people through music.
